Comics Vocabulary

Hi Folks,
Thanks for being such an attentive audience yesterday when I visited your class. I have not yet posted the PowerPoint as it needs to be hosted on a server before I can link to it. I'll do that later today so that you'll be able to read it over again this weekend and start incorporating the terms into your discussions.

Argh-Team Names!

OK so the team names are super funny, but you need to have a blog title such as Bonnie and Clyde so that I know who you are. Thanks. Great work so far.

Persepolis Post Categories

Hi- I want you to post your blogs in these categories:
You must add at least one post to each category each week. So... by the end of a week, you should have added at least 4 posts.

Sign your posts
Do not use your full names- first names only.

work in pairs

1) Class Act:
This will be your account of class activity:
Interesting points, funny moments, my choice of tie, things you need to remember, and things you need to understand by writing them down here.

2) Feedback:
Your feedback on one of the following:
things I say in class (3 max)
things your peers say (3 max)
these should be comments on others' blog posts
editing comments: advice you have been given on recent or old assignments and your reaction to those comments--how will you use this advice to improve? (3 max)

3) Literary Feature Hunt
Record Satrapi's effective use of literary features in relation to the graphic novel's theme.
Refer to BC Ministry of Education's grade 10 (or grade 12) examinable terms. The literary features will manifest in the words, the images, and both simultaneously.

4) Snippets
This should include parts of the graphic novel that you like, that interest you, that confuse you, that you see being connected to another work or (really) any comment involving a close reading of the text.
This section should also include a discussion of the effective use of graphic novel specific methods: panel transitions are one example.

When you put in your tags, choose tags appropriate to your post's content, but you must include a tag that denotes each category's title.
